A photo exploration between clay, touch, and our surroundings. Toccare is a visual comparison of the tactile nature of clay, and the way each artist leaves behind their imprint on the surface. Similarly, this translates to our surroundings having the ability to leave an imprint on us, especially in unfamiliar environments. This project took place during a semester abroad in Italy. While studying the ceramics of the area, the clay used in this project was dug from a local villa where we resided. It is representative of a place that not only impacted myself, but 18 of my classmates during our travels abroad.
